Dau Tieng needs to mobilize resources for investment and development

Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation made the statement at a working session with Dau Tieng district’s Party Standing Committee yesterday morning (March 13) about the local socio-economic situation, national defense – security and Party building in the first 2 months of 2024, directions and key tasks in the following months. Economy further recovering and developing

Reporting to provincial delegation, Nguyen Phuong Linh, Vice-Secretary of Dau Tieng district’s Party Committee, Chairman of the district’s People's Committee said that since early this year, the district’s Party Committee has focused on deploying the local resolution on socio-economic development, national defense - security and Party building and achieved a number of positive and quite comprehensive results in all fields. The operations of district-based enterprises have been relatively stable. Currently, the district is coordinating with Dau Tieng One-Member Rubber Co.Ltd. and related units to further explain and supplement opinions on appraisal of Long Tan Industrial Compound project documents at the request of provincial Department of Industry and Trade while further supporting relevant procedures for enterprises to implement the An Lap Industrial Compound infrastructure investment project to come into operation.

Mr.Linh also said that over the past time, the local situation of trade and service activities was stable, meeting people’s needs for shopping. In the first 2 months of the year, the district issued 207 business certificates to individuals and individual business households with total registered capital of over VND 51.5 billion. The district’s agricultural sector continued developing towards hi-tech, organic and ecological models. The district promoted chain-oriented agricultural production, with the traceability of agricultural products' origin. Currently, the district's rubber area is 49,220 hectares, down 0.31% over the same period while the local fruit tree area is 926 hectares, up 13.1% over the same period. The district’s animal husbandry has been developed in the form of farms and industrial production has continued fostering. To date, the whole district has had 253 farms on animal husbandry, including 124 poultry farms, 129 cattle farms.

Dau Tieng district further implements a plan on the Agriculture - Farmers - Rural Development Program for the period of 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030. Regarding the National Target Program on new-style rural construction, the district regularly urges communes to further invest, maintain and improve the quality of criteria to achieve the province's set of advanced new-style rural criteria for the 2021-2025 period, aiming at building communes that meet model new-style rural standards. To date, the district has awarded 3-star OCOP product certificates in 2023 to 9 products. Thus, the whole district has 16 products meeting 3-star OCOP standards, 8 out of 12 communes and towns with OCOP products.

Potential and advantages tapped

According to Nguyen Phuong Linh, Chairman of Dau Tieng district’s People's Committee, the district needs support from the province, relevant departments and sectors in construction of infrastructure facilities, especially traffic ones in order to have breakthroughs in the local socio-economic development. Accordingly, the district proposed the province to re-adjust the decentralization of road construction management for DH.704 road to DT.744B road while saying ok to the establishment of a project to build DT.744B road in the North-South axis of the phase 1. It is necessary for the district to soon invest in upgrading and expanding DT.749B road from Minh Hoa to Chon Thanh town in Binh Phuoc province to ensure synchronization and promote its effectiveness. On the other hand, the district proposed the province to invest in the North Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang arterial road extending to Binh Tay bridge in Dau Tieng town’s quarter 6 to connect with Tay Ninh province.

At the working session, leaders of the province's departments and sectors discussed measures to help the district remove obstacles to accelerate the local socio-economic development, especially development of a traffic infrastructure system with connectivity in and out of the province; improve the effectiveness of administrative reform; absolutely resolve the relocation of households out of Cau mountain protection forest; place a marker for 25.1 work and determine the semi-flooded area of ​​Dau Tieng reservoir…

Speaking at the working, Mr. Loi spoke highly of the efforts by the Party Committee, government and people of Dau Tieng district in 2023 and the first 2 months of 2024. Regarding some key tasks in the coming time, he requested the district to urgently announce the district’s planning until 2040 so that investors can learn and seize investment opportunities. The district selects potential projects on eco-tourism development, industrial compound infrastructure construction...to call for investment. Besides, the district needs to focus on tapping the local potential and advantages to develop clean and organic agriculture...

Regarding investment in infrastructure development, especially traffic infrastructure, provincial Party Committee Secretary requested the district to diversify investment methods and create resources to develop traffic infrastructure. On the other hand, the district needs to deliberate capital needs and mobilize resources to develop infrastructure to serve the local socio-economic development in the coming time. Provincial Party Committee Secretary also asked for the district to further launch the movement of the State, businesses and people working together in building traffic infrastructure, contributing to serving the local requirements for rapid and sustainable economic development in the coming time.
