Taking action to protect children

During this year's Action Month for Children, the province plans to spend VND 500 million on giving gifts for about 2,500 children with special circumstances in the community; open free swimming classes for about 1,100 children with extremely difficult circumstances and children of workers with difficult circumstances... Every Youth Union member, member of socio-political organizations, social organization is also mobilized to make a practical action for children...

A propaganda parade aims at raising public awareness of child protection, care and education

For child care and protection activities to further have strong pervasiveness, attracting the attention of many individuals, organizations and units, provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has further promoted propaganda and mobilization of social resources to join hands to care for children, especially those with difficult circumstances. Typically, in the first 6 months of the year, provincial Children’s Fund and localities organized the following programs: the provincial 17th "Spring with Difficult Children"; the provincial project on "Education development for students with difficult circumstances in the period of 2023-2028"; the long-term sponsorship programs named "Every compassionate heart makes a dream come true”, “Nurturing aspirations”… with a total cost of about VND 7 billion.

Nguyen Ngoc Hang, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that with the drastic participation of all-level authorities and sectors, the work of protecting and caring for children in Binh Duong has recently achieved many positive results. The work of protecting and building a safe and healthy living environment for children is emphasized. Children’s cultural and spiritual life, entertainment and their rights  are increasingly guaranteed, creating the best conditions for them to develop comprehensively. “In the coming time, the Department will further advise provincial People's Committee on promulgating and directing localities to implement programs on child protection and care program; give priority to allocating resources to ensure support and intervention for children when experiencing violence and abuse...in order to build up a safe, friendly, healthy living environment. In addition, the Department strengthens communication work to contribute to raising awareness and responsibility of families, schools and the whole society in the work of protecting children", Mrs. Hang added.

“Units need to further pay more attention to children so that they have more conditions to study, play and develop comprehensively. It is recommended that agencies, organizations, educational establishments, families and especially Youth Union organizations strengthen and promote their roles and responsibilities in the protection, care and education of children and young people while considering this as a key task. They need to have close coordination in organizing and implementing summer activities, directing children to skill training activities and volunteer activities".
