Spreading the noble gesture

In response to this year's "People's Day of Voluntary Blood Donation", from the province to localities, all organized activities according to actual situations. At the provincial ceremony on April 4, the number of people coming to register for voluntary blood donation was very high. Many of them donated blood many times, there were also people who did this for the first time, but they all shared the same wish to help patients make it through the worst of illnesses and soon recover.

Ly Hoang Long, 20 years old, a worker of Co.opmart Binh Duong Supermarket, said this was his first time taking part in voluntary blood donation. He said: "I learned that my blood after the donation will contribute to saving the sick, hence I am very happy and find this activity very meaningful. After donating blood, I feel that my health is normal, nothing has changed. Later, if I have the opportunity, I will join this more often."

On this occasion, provincial leaders and a large number of party members, civil servants, officials, youth union members, workers and people's classes in the province donate their blood.

Meanwhile, Phan Hoai Nam, 33 years old, in Chanh Nghia ward, Thu Dau Mot city, said that since the age of 18, he has participated in voluntary blood donation. When he first donated blood, he was worried, but after donating blood and feeling normal, he continued to take part in this activity. "I have done voluntary blood donation more than 30 times and will continue this meaningful deed for a long time until I can no longer donate blood," Nam expressed. Not only actively donating blood, Nam also encouraged youth union members, workers and his family to participate in this meaningful movement.

Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, Chairwoman of the Provincial Red Cross, said that in response to the "People's Day of Voluntary Blood Donation" in 2022, agencies and units in the province had registered for blood donation with an expected number of nearly 2,000 units of blood. At this provincial ceremony alone, nearly 700 officials, workers and people in the province came to donate their blood. Through medical screening, the Organizing Committee received 670 units of blood, exceeding 70 units compared to the initially planned number.

To call on everyone to join in

Voluntary blood donation is a beautiful gesture, full of humanity, contributes to bringing health and life to patients who need blood treatment. From the noble meaning of donating blood to save lives, many people in the province have volunteered to donate blood and mobilize everyone to participate in this activity. As a result, the provincial Voluntary blood donation movement has been growing more and more widely. Every year, in addition to Red Cross levels, many agencies, units and enterprises in the province also organize voluntary blood donation activities and had increasing numbers of registers.

In addition to mobilizing officials, civil servants, workers and people to participate in voluntary blood donation, at this year's ceremony of "People's Day of Voluntary Blood Donation", many leaders of provinces, districts, towns and cities also donated their blood, including Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Loi. This shows that voluntary blood donation activities have been receiving special attention from provincial leaders as well as localities; thereby contributing to encouraging many people to take part in donating blood to have more blood sources for disease treatment at medical facilities.

Compassion is one of the good humanitarian traditions of our nation. Currently, every day, every hour, many patients are in the danger of their lives because not having enough blood in time. Therefore, each of us just needs to spend a little time, donate a small part of our blood to save lives. Nguyen Loc Ha said that in the coming time, the demand for blood quantity and quality for medical emergency and treatment is increasing. He asked all levels, branches, unions and people to continue to pay attention, support and create favorable conditions for meaningful programs like this to develop and spread further throughout the province.

Nguyen Loc Ha said: "For the health of the community and the happiness of the people, on behalf of the provincial leaders, I call on all party members, civil servants, officials, youth union members, workers and people's classes in the province to actively participate in and mobilize everyone to participate in blood donation, organ donation, and body donation for medicine and science. This is both the compassion and the sacred responsibility of each of us for the community and society."
