Youths voluntary, united, creative for Binh Duong’s development

Today, October 4, the 7^th provincial Youth Federation congress for the 2019-2024 tenure is grandly held at provincial Convention and Exhibition Center, with the participation of 250 delegates representing nearly 160,000 members and youths across the province.

Movements concretized

In the 2014-2019 tenure, the province’s youth movements continued reaching good results. The movement of “I love my nation” was concretized into the movement of “I love Binh Duong”. Noticeably, two models, namely “I love Binh Duong” journey and journey “connecting young workers” were effectively implemented among members and youths together with forums, talk shows in association with the “I love Binh Duong” festival…

Provincial Youth Federation also coordinated with relevant units to organize more than 30 training courses and forums on business startup for youths. In addition, many competitions on “Business startup ideas”, “Youths with business startup creation”…were held. Provincial Youth Federation also realized many programs connecting, supporting business startup ideas, absorbing numerous members and youths.

For movements mobilizing youths in emulation and training, provincial Youth Federation and its branches held a lot of programs honoring outstanding individuals in studying and working, namely “Obedient children”, “Young talents”, “Students with five good performances”…. They also attached special importance to supporting disadvantaged youths; educating, converting backward youths, helping them integrate into the community again…

Volunteer

Through studying, following late President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, lifestyle, provincial Youth Federation and its branches in the 2014-2019 tenure implemented a variety of practical deeds, bringing into full play each member, youth’s volunteer spirit. Some typical programs included those of “Volunteering in international events of the province”, “Volunteering in building up a flexible, friendly and modern public administration”, “Volunteering for border areas, islands”…Especially, the local youths actively got involved in volunteer activities in the annual Lady Thien Hau temple festival ; set up on-site volunteer teams to deal with urgent issues.

Moreover, provincial Youth Federations at all levels teamed up with provincial Young Physicians’ Association and Volunteers’ Clubs at all levels to organize a festival on young physicians following Uncle Ho’s teachings, volunteering for community’s health; carry out a model on “compassionate bus for community’s health”; provide free medical check-up, medicine for needy children in and out of the province…with a total cost of more than VND4.2billion.

Such these apart, the local youths also actively engaged in activities on environmental protection, civilized urban construction with “lighting rural road” works, “green volunteer” clubs, “self-management youth” squads in residential quarters, at lodging facilities…

Nguyen Tan Dat, Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union said that under the support of provincial Party Committee, People’s Committee plus close coordination with sectors, mass organizations in the province, officials and members of provincial Youth Federation have upheld their solidarity spirit, creation in youth movements. Improvements in both form and content of provincial Youth Federations at all levels together with their coordination with provincial Youth Union Standing Committee in realizing youth programs have received enthusiastic response from the local administration and people.

With achievements done, provincial Youth Federation was awarded the emulation banners of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Federation for five consecutive years and was among 14 best units in youth movements of the association for five consecutive years from 2014 to 2019.

Impressive figures done by provincial Youth Federation in the 2014-2019 tenure:

-450 clubs, sub-unions, groups in non-State enterprises, at lodging facilities were established

-113 houses of compassion were built

-Addional 55,781 members were admitted

-5,041 outstanding youths were honored

-306,879 members, youths got dissemination of the law, civilized urban lifestyle construction

-286 youth activities were implemented among ethnic minority and religious youths

-15 specialized volunteer squads were set up

-54 clubs on voluntary blood donation were established

-103 youth cooperative groups, business startup clubs were set up

-74,576 people, teenagers and children with difficult circumstances were under free medical check-up
