Many policies to support the elderly to "live joyfully, happily and healthily”

On the afternoon of February 24, Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation worked with a delegation of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly (VAE), led by Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of the VAE. The event was attended by Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

Reportedly, provincial Associations of the Elderly at all levels paid attention to taking care of the spiritual and material lives of the elderly over the past time, contributing to well realizing the Party and government’s social welfare policies. On average, 7,860 people aged 80 and over, and 3,690 people aged 60 - 79 enjoyed the monthly allowance of VND400,000 per person, higher than the general level of the Government. To increase resources to take care of the elderly, the association cooperated with communal-level People's Committees to establish 82 funds caring for and promoting the role of the elderly. Speaking at the working session, Mr. Loi praised results done by provincial Association of the Elderly over the past time while saying that provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee have always paid attention to directing the task of taking care of the elderly. Many policies to take care of the spiritual and material lives of the elderly were promulgated by the province. This is a source of encouragement for the elderly, helping them "live joyfully, live healthily and live happily". He wanted that provincial Association of the Elderly and the elderly will continue upholding the spirit of "elderly people set bright examples", contributing to the local socio-economic development, maintaining the local political security, social order and safety.

On this occasion, the VAE also awarded VND100million to members of provincial Association of the Elderly with difficult circumstances.
