To ensure a safe, beneficial, and interesting summer vacation for the students, the Provincial Steering Committee for Children's Activities has been implementing various practical activities to take care of the children.

From the end of May, when the sound of cicadas signals the end of the school year, localities have organized summer opening ceremonies and launched the Month of Action for Children to implement a series of activities to care for children. At Nguyen Du Park, Phu Cuong Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, the summer opening ceremony with the theme "Practical actions, prioritizing resources for children" was officially launched. This year, at the program, the City People's Committee has presented 660 gifts to children of poor households, near-poor households, and children in difficult circumstances in the city worth 132 million VND; presented 100 scholarships for English courses to students in difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties in studying worth 1 billion VND. The City Steering Committee for Children's Activities has also presented 38 gifts to 38 children in difficult circumstances, orphans. In addition, when participating in the program, children can take part in traditional folk games organized by the Youth Union of Ward 14; creative science and technology experience spaces; English language proficiency testing playgrounds for children; ethnic musical instrument performances for children.

In Ben Cat city, the Steering Committee for Youth Activities in Ben Cat city has also organized the opening of summer and launched the Month of Action for Children; the communication campaign "Practical Action, Prioritizing Resources for Children" in Ben Cat city in 2024. This time, the People's Committee of Ben Cat City has presented 21 gifts to children in difficult circumstances in An Dien Ward. After the ceremony, the youth union members paraded and propagated on some main roads of the city to create a widespread effect among the people about the Month of Action for Children, the communication campaign "Join hands to minimize harm to children".

At the grassroots level, the Youth Union also organizes vibrant activities, typical of which are the Youth Union of Nha Nai Rubber Farm (Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Company) and the Youth Union of Tan Dinh commune (Bac Tan Uyen district) coordinating to organize the summer camp opening ceremony with the theme "Dynamic, Healthy, Safe Summer". The camp has the participation of 9 sub-camps with over 200 children and nearly 90 youth union members. Children participate in building and decorating tents, playing activities such as passing the ball, choosing beans, throwing balls into baskets, dressing up, and recycling fashion with the theme "I love the green environment". On this occasion, the Organizing Committee of the program "Lighting up the dreams of young children" has given gifts to children in difficult circumstances, overcoming difficulties in studying.

Practical activities

In response to the Month of Action for Children in 2024, youth organizations at all levels in the province will coordinate with the labor - invalids and social affairs sector to enhance the dissemination of knowledge and skills for children, families, and communities regarding child protection, strengthening propaganda on mass media, social networks, residential areas, and families with children about preventive measures, support, intervention to protect children in a timely and effective manner, especially in preventing child sexual abuse and violence in the family. At the same time, organize training activities and provide guidance for officials in charge and children on knowledge, life skills, skills to protect against child abuse, prevention of electronic cigarette and drug use in schools.

The Youth Union will also coordinate the organization of forums for children, helping local leaders meet, dialogue, listen to the opinions and wishes of children; coordinate the organization of activities to prevent drowning in children during the summer activities in schools; strengthen propaganda activities for children on drowning prevention. Concurrently, various activities to enhance social skills for children, creative and experiential summer camps, skill training summer camps, models such as "A day as a firefighter", "Military semester", "Dynamic teens - learning the good things" are also organized this summer.

To support children, youth organizations at all levels coordinate activities to visit and give gifts, take care of children in difficult circumstances; in the summer volunteer campaign, green summer, youth members will establish teams to organize cultural review, popularize knowledge and encourage children to return to school. To provide young people with a healthy playground during the summer, Youth Union at all levels coordinates with various sectors to organize activities to teach and nurture knowledge, teach foreign languages, sports playgrounds, fun science playgrounds, weekend playgrounds.

Summer activities for children have significant importance in helping them develop comprehensively in terms of physical, intellectual, and spiritual aspects. Through the care activities of various levels and sectors, they will have a joyful, meaningful, and beneficial summer.

Mr. Le Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Youth Council, said: "This summer, the Youth Union and the departments and agencies will coordinate to organize practical summer activities for children; focusing on promoting the role and voice of children, preventing accidents, drowning, child abuse, especially taking care of the children of young workers in the unions and loving classes." All districts and cities simultaneously organize the opening of summer and launch activities to take care of disadvantaged children; organize a festival called "Children overcoming difficulties and studying well". The provincial youth union coordinates with the Military Command and the provincial Police to organize military and police semesters.”
