Typhoon Yagi entered the East Sea on September 3, becoming the third storm in the sea so far this year, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHF).

On September 3, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh ordered prompt measures from ministries, sectors, and localities against the typhoon.

In a dispatch, the government leader noted that the storm has very high possibility of directly affecting the sea and land areas of the Northern and North Central regions, and asked heads of relevant ministries and localities to keep a close eye on its developments, giving timely directions on responding measures, ensuring safety of life and minimising property damage.

At the same time, they were requested to guide people to prepare against the storm, instructing vessels operating at sea to seek safe shelters, actively evacuating people from high-risk areas to safer places, and protecting the safety of infrastructures.

The PM also ordered relevant ministries and localities to prepare forces and vehicles for search and rescue activities. He asked media agencies to continuously updating the movements of the typhoon and providing guidance for people to response to it.

The Government leader assigned Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha to directly follow the implementation of this dispatch.
