Tet festival 2018 goes joyful, safe and economical

Early February 21, Tran Van Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly delegation chaired a meeting to assess the local situation before, during and after the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2018.

Activities in celebration of Party, spring

Reportedly, provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee held many delegations to visit, extend Tet greetings and offer gifts to revolutionary veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, policy beneficiaries, poor households, children with difficult circumstances, armed forces, hospitals, schools and workers ahead of Tet. Especially, in the days near Tet, State President Tran Dai Quang visited and presented gifts to needy workers in the province. The province also grandly held a get-together to mark the 88^th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam; visited and extended best regards to religious dignitaries, press agencies, diplomatic corps, artists and overseas Vietnamese. In addition, provincial leaders visited, extended Tet greetings and offered gifts to units that were on duty on Lunar New Year’s Eve.

Many places like provincial Integrated Administration Center, Binh Duong Avenue, welcome gates, Go Gau crossroads, Vinh Binh bridge, Binh Duong New City flower street and main streets were decorated very beautifully. The province also organized a spring flower market, a spring flower festival…Besides, many attractive activities in celebrating of the Lunar New Year 2018 were held in Thanh Le Cultural Park. Districts, towns and TDM city in the province organized firework performances on Lunar New Year’s Eve safety and orderly.

Districts, towns and TDM city were proactive to organize numerous activities in celebration of the Party and spring. They mobilized enterprises to join hands with the local administration to take care of people on Tet by such significant activities as decorating streets, welcome gates, banners…, holding sports and cultural programs, visiting and presenting gifts to policy beneficiaries, workers and poor people.

Giving care for workers on Tet

Provincial Trade Unions at all levels coordinated with enterprises to take care of workers on Tet practically and effectively. They mobilized enterprises to sufficiently implement Tet salary and bonus policies for laborers and create favorable conditions for them to celebrate Tet; teamed up with socio political organizations to organize a “Tet sum vay” (Gathering in Tet holiday) art performance night and 20 art performance nights for tens of thousand of laborers; gave around 7,300 train and bus tickets for alien laborers with difficult circumstances to return home for Tet…

According to statistics by functional agencies, all enterprises in the province sufficiently paid January’s salary for laborers ahead of Tet while well realizing many other policies for them. Most of them provided their laborers with the 13^th-month salary between VND5.2million and VND7.3million as Tet bonus…

The province also focused on directing the organization of activities taking care of the spiritual and material lives of people, especially policy beneficiaries, armed forces, workers, poor households…In addition, the province well controlled over the market with supply-demand balance ensured; sufficiently arranged public transport means and ensured traffic safely during Tet; excelled at preventative health, guaranteed food and hygiene safety, environmental hygiene; held sport-cultural activities, maintained political security and social order-safety.

Peaceful, joyful Tet

According to the assessment of provincial Party Standing Committee members at the meeting, authorities at all levels, sectors and agencies of the province welcomed the Tet festival 2018 joyfully, excitedly, safely and economically in accordance with the Party and State’s common policy.

The province well realized tasks on taking care of policy beneficiaries and workers; controlling over the market; ensuring public transport means, traffic safety, food safety-hygiene and environmental hygiene; maintaining political security and social order-safety, creating favorable conditions for people to celebrate Tet. Province-based tourist sites as of the third day of lunar January, 2018 welcomed around 79,370 visitors. Among them, around 58,700 and 16,000 visited Dai Nam tourist site and Cau mountain tourist site…

Mr.Nam said that the above mentioned results came from the efforts by the local entire political system and business community. Tasks on taking care of policy beneficiaries, workers and poor people; making urban rejuvenation; ensuring traffic safety…were continuously implemented by the province right from early 2017.

In terms of some major tasks after Tet, Mr.Nam said that the local functional agencies need to focus on grasping the situation of enterprises’ production and workers resuming work after Tet; well realize the organization of the Lady Thien Hau Temple Festival 2018; bend on fire fighting and prevention, food safety and hygiene after Tet…
