More than 152,000 children aged 12 to 17 will receive third shot of Covid-19 vaccine

The Provincial People's Committee has issued a plan to vaccinate children from 12 to 17 years old. It is expected that in July, the medical branch will organize a short-term, simultaneous vaccination campaign in all localities of the province.

Regarding vaccination locations, educational institutions (children who are in school or on summer vacation) will organize injections at schools or school clusters. Especially for children who do not go to school, injections will be organized at commune, ward and town medical stations. The Provincial General Hospital and 9 medical centers of districts, towns and cities will inject children having underlying medical conditions and children who need health examination and injection at hospital. The vaccine used in this campaign is the Pfizer vaccine, with a dosage of 0.3ml.

According to statistics of Provincial Department of Health, by the end of January 2022, more than 152,000 children aged 12 to 17 years in the province received 2 basic shots of covid-19 vaccine and need to be repeated with the third shot.

The Provincial People's Committee requests schools, social protection establishments and localities to disseminate information and register children. Steering Committees for Covid-19 prevention and control of localities in collaboration with education branch, labor - war invalids and social affairs’ branch direct junior high schools, high schools, continuing education centers, vocational schools to make a list of all students that are studying in schools according to each class and were injected with 2 basic doses. Schools are tasked with informing each student of the covid-19 shot vaccination campaign. Schools must send a parents’ consent to participate in the vaccination, and pre-immunization screening papers for parents to declare their child's health condition.
